Davie Young (1930-2021)

At DADSC we were sad to hear of the death of Davie Young, just short of his 91st birthday.

Davie was a Pars fan since childhood, and in his later years as a wheelchair user he was a regular on the viewing platform at East End Park – he appreciated the company of the Match Buddies and was always cheery, no matter the result on the pitch! His nephew Wullie Oliphant is part of the DAFC Schools Engagement Team.

Davie’s son Douglas asked that donations in his dad’s memory should go to DADSC, and a website was set up for anyone who wanted to contribute. This was a very kind action by Davie’s family, and he would have thoroughly approved of it. Contributions to the website totalled £500, a magnificent total.
